MEDREG Director Hasan Ozkoc took part in a workshop organised by the Lebanese Ministry of Energy and Water to examine potential amendments to Law 462/2002 and the implementation of the Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) Law.

The event, moderated by H.E. Minister Joseph Saddi, focused on the necessary revisions to the law and the role of the soon-to-be-established energy regulator.

Multiple stakeholders of the energy sector were present, sharing their perspectives on the regulator’s expected role and the benefits it could bring to Lebanon’s energy landscape.

Mr. Ozkoc emphasised the urgent need to establish the regulator, increase production capacity, and pursue multiple work streams in parallel—including legislative amendments.
