Members

MEDREG hosts a growing number of members, formed by the energy regulatory authorities of 23 Mediterranean countries: Albania, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Malta, Montenegro, Morocco, North Macedonia, Palestine, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia and Türkiye.

 

MEDREG’s 29 regulatory members include:

 

  • 9 European countries;
  • 5 Balkan countries plus Türkiye;
  • 9 Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries.

 

In terms of regulatory scope:

 

  • 6 members regulate electricity only, and 3 are dedicated solely to gas;
  • 3 members regulate both gas and electricity;
  • 9 members regulate all energy sectors (gas, electricity, and others), while 3 members cover energy alongside additional sectors such as waste, telecommunications, and consumer protection.

 

From an institutional perspective, MEDREG comprises 23 independent regulatory authorities and 6 ministries
