MEDREG’s workshop on licensing procedures and electricity storage: a way forward for Jordan
As part of the peer review to the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) on the topic of issuing and managing licensing procedures applied for generation, transmission and distribution, MEDREG is organising a workshop in Amman on 27 and 28 November in order to explore other possible ways of interacting with licensees that can be hybrid between the soft and hard tools they use.
The first day of the workshop will address the regulatory tools that regulators should have to correctly monitor licensees while the second day will focus on the state of play of the regulation of electricity storage in Jordan.

MEDREG - Med-TSO Joint Training on the Regulation of Infrastructure Investment
MEDREG organises a three-day training on "Regulating Electricity Infrastructure Investment" for its members to be held in Rome (Italy) on 10-12 December 2019 at the Grand Hotel Palatino. The training is jointly organised by MEDREG and Med-TSO.
This training considers and explains the main questions and possible answers that characterize the debate on infrastructure and investments, focusing in particular on planning and feasibility, network integration and incentives. This course will provide a comprehensive view on the planning designs (and their relative costs) that can characterize electricity markets and illustrate the pros and cons of each of them. It will also propose a review of the incentive models currently in use in Europe and detail the steps to undertake for the integration of wholesale and balancing markets. The course combines theory with practical case studies presented directly by decision-makers involved, including energy regulators, academics and professional from energy companies.
